K-mart Youth Foundation was founded in 2021 by Kalema Omar, inspired by his own life experiences. In 2017, while studying at Kyambogo, he encountered a profound challenge when a close friend’s baby was diagnosed with severe anemia. This friend struggled to afford treatment and basic necessities, revealing the harsh realities faced by many in the community. Tragically, the baby passed away in 2019.

These experiences ignited a passion in Omar to make a difference. Since then, he has dedicated himself to addressing the needs of vulnerable individuals and families in our community. Our foundation aims to provide vital support, ensuring that no one has to face such hardships alone.
