Who we are
K-Mart Youth Foundation is a legally registered Non-Profit Organisation in Uganda with URSB under registration Number, 80034089230186 and established on April 6, 2021, is a beacon of hope dedicated
to transforming lives through comprehensive support programs. Our mission encompasses empowering youth with essential
skills through education, alleviating poverty by providing vital resources, ensuring access to health care, addressing
food insecurity, distributing clothing to those in need, and assisting families in securing safe shelter.
Located in Uganda, Central Masaka, Kimanya Kyabakuza, Wave 3, Kijjabwemi A, we are guided by our visionary directors:
Kalema Omar, Tebukye Esau, and Nakayiza Shabirah. The foundation was born from a personal tragedy that
ignited a passion for change in Kalema Omar, who, while studying at Kyambogo in 2017, faced a heartbreaking
situation when a close friend's baby was diagnosed with severe anemia. This friend struggled to afford
treatment and basic necessities, revealing the harsh realities many endure. Tragically, the baby passed
away in 2019, leaving an indelible mark on Omar's heart and opening his eyes to the urgent need for
support in the community. Inspired by this experience, he founded K-mart Youth Foundation to ensure
that no one faces such hardships alone, striving to provide vital support and foster hope.

K-mart Youth Foundation was founded in 2021 by Kalema Omar, inspired by his own life experiences.
In 2017, while studying at Kyambogo, he encountered a profound challenge when a close friend’s baby
was diagnosed with severe anemia. This friend struggled to afford treatment and basic necessities,
revealing the harsh realities faced by many in the community.
Tragically, the baby passed away in 2019.
These experiences ignited a passion in Omar to make a difference. Since then,
he has dedicated himself to addressing the needs of vulnerable individuals and families in our community.
Our foundation aims to provide vital support, ensuring that no one has to face such hardships alone.
